“Sat” means Ultimate Truth which remains ‘unchanging’ under all conditions, under all time and under all places. You are living in a world where everything is changing at every moment. Even your body, mind and intelligence (buddhi) is changing, but the “Self” within you remains unchanging. This is known as silent witness of your being.

One can experience this “Self” (Sat) when you discard everything—body, mind, intelligence and awareness. This is known as ‘neti-neti’ (not   this, not that). We are so much identified with the body that it’s impossible to imagine that “I am not body” or “I am not mind”. In deep sleep, the body sleeps, the mind becomes inactive, but you still remain. It’s equivalent to Samadhi, but you remain aware.

Sat Meditation culminates in experiencing this unchanging “Self”. Static meditation and dynamic meditation techniques assist in inner exploration by untying the cord which binds you to the external world. When you come to the centre of your consciousness, only then Sat Meditation begins. 

Breath

When your awareness starts flowing with incoming and outgoing breath, this is known as breath meditation. Breath always happen in present moment, and meditation is living in the present moment.

Silence

Mind chatters while silence is the speech of divine. Mind wanders on the vehicle of sensory organs. Disconnect the body’s five senses to experience your true essence of being.

Dance

The whole universe is dancing to the tune of Shiva’s drum. When you starts flowing with cosmic dance, world drops from the mind. Meditation happens on its own without any preparation.

Om kriya

The sound of all sounds is ‘aum’ or ‘om’. You hear this unstruck sound when you sit in completely silent environment and where sound of your thoughts vanishes from the mind.

Humming

Sound of nature is not disturbing but relieving. Bee seems to be meditating when it produces soulful sound of buzzing. This is soulful meditation technique that release pent-up emotions and suppressed feelings

Crying

It may sound unbelievable but it’s true that crying can be meditation. When you cry so deeply that you forget everything, then it becomes meditation. It releases all blocked tensions and worries.         

Laughing

Living in a jovial mood brings you closer to a void state of mind. When you laugh heartedly, the very act turns meditation. Because nothing remains within mind except joy and peace

Sat is ‘Ultimate Truth’ which is nameless, formless, attribute-less. You may call it whatever you like but this is your true essence. Mind, ego, desire, dreams are the wall between you and the “Sat.’ To reach this eternal existence – Sat – we must transcend egoistic mind and lower self. Everything comes from this divine, and ultimately dissolves into this ‘Sat’. Sat is eternal, imperishable and all-pervading.
