ABOUT THE COURSE
What is Meditation
Meditation is pure “I” without labelling—without mind, without ego, and without intelligence. It is a state of pure consciousness minus mind. Ordinarily, wherever your mind moves, consciousness follows it. But when mind turns still and calm, only consciousness remains. Consciousness is the self-illuminated light of “Self” or “I.” The opening sutra of Siva Sutra says “Chaitanyam atma” means “Self is consciousness”. What is light to sun; consciousness is to “Self”. In meditation when you delve deeper into the inner bottom; you realize who you are and what is your essential nature.
Meditation is self-journey where everything turns ‘still’— body, mind, senses and intelligence. It is a pathless path as the destination is not far; but within you. You just need to peel-off the masks (asat) that hides your innate divinity. There is no experience in meditation only realization; as experience is related to mind and you transcend mind in meditation.

Benefits of Meditation
Meditation is your most natural state. It is the axis through which wheels of life moves. In meditation, your mind and consciousness unites and you disconnect from outer world temporarily. You realize that all tensions, anxiety, fear, misery etc. are part of outer world and have nothing to do with your essential “Self”. Here are some benefits:

Self-conscious state
You don’t remain conscious of the outer world, but also remain connected to inner ‘Self’. So, whenever the mind starts wandering, you instantly aware of its movement. Meditation helps you to gain total control on fluctuations (vrittis) of mind.

Aware of breath
Meditation reveals that mind and breath are closely linked. When breath is balanced and slow, nice thoughts emerges and when its erratic, thoughts are disruptive. Breath awareness connects to your innate power.

Present moment
Fluctuations of mind reduces and mind remains unoccupied most of the time. You experience the ‘bliss’ of present moment to see that there is no division anywhere. Present is indivisible, and so is the meditation.

Clarity of thoughts
Overthinking never allows your mind to rest and repose in inner space. Meditation guides you to which thoughts need to be entertain, and discard unwanted thoughts. All this helps you to make wise decisions both at personal and professional levels.

Saintly virtues
Object meditation silently removes all the negativity from the mental level and psychological levels and you cultivate saintly virtues like compassion, empathy, gratitude and kindness. It helps to make you cultivate Sattva (positive traits).

Improves physical health
Thoughts have deep impact on your outermost covering i.e. physical body. Meditation improves your nervous system, circulatory system and digestive system to ensure healthy body with productive mind.

Spiritual glow
Regular practice of “dhyana” releases healthy hormones and fills your body with magnetic glow that no cosmetic industry or diet can give. The spiritual glow that comes with daily practice of meditation is unmatchable.

Things happens through you
To non-meditative mind, things happen to them. They have to accept willingly or unwillingly. Once you start meditating object-less meditation, the limited self is replaced by divine ‘Self’. Then things happens as per your wishes.
