Yoga Psychology & Methodology

Psychology shapes design learning approach by knowing mental
loops of seekers

Psychology of Yoga Teaching

There is no universal method that works for everyone; skilful yoga teaching responds to a different approach to learning. At Satbodh yoga school, we understand individuals rather than treating all students alike. Our aim is to nurture each student’s hidden potential, helping them refine themselves and uncover the inner wisdom and brilliance.

“An experienced yoga teacher understands the seeker’s mind to make yoga teaching easier and meaningful and help students progress on learning.”

01

Insightful Learning

The teacher training course may be the same for all, but the purpose behind joining isdifferent for each student. Whether the intention is professional certification, personalgrowth, or spiritual exploration, Satbodh yoga school recognizes individual aspirations andadapts our teaching to create a more meaningful and transformative learning journey.

02

Collective Growth

Every student at Satbodh foundation is given the opportunity to express themselves and isvalued for their "individuality". We promote cooperation over competition, creating apositive learning environment where students and teachers share mutual respect, trust andsupport. This "culture of collective growth" is one of the hallmarks of our school.

03

Inner Conditioning

Each student learns through the lens of their unique inner conditioning. Some respondbetter to practical demonstrations, while others prefer theoretical explanations.Understanding these distinct patterns of learning enables teachers to tailor their guidanceand create a more effective and enriching learning experience for every student.

04

Deep Connection

Transformation flourishes only when trust, connection and mutual respect exist betweenteacher and student. We nurture a family-like learning environment where students supportone another, learn together, and grow through cooperation rather than rivalry. The spirit ofbonding creates a strong foundation for learning and personal growth.

"At Satbodh yoga school, we don't teach every student the same way; we adapt our guidance to each individual's learning journey."

Inner Laws of Meditation

Nature thrives through laws and science reveals the laws of the outer world. Behind every
transformation lies a principle. Here are the six foundational principles of Bodh Meditation.

Vow

Become available to meditation

Surrender

Surrender all that you cling to

Commitment

Stay devoted to the path

Presence

Showing up opens door to possibility

Empty mind

Free the mind from needless baggage

Blissful state

You are 'Self', and Self is bliss

Theoretical Methodology

The theoretical approach of asana, pranayama and meditation helps seekers knowing beyond physical practice. Asana is more than sitting or standing as it is practiced with awareness and stability. Pranayama is simple breathing transformed into yogic practice through awareness at different stages of the breath. Similarly, meditation is inclusive and can be practiced anywhere even when walking, relaxing or looking. Our approach makes these practices simple, natural and enjoyable to learn and apply in daily life.

Theoretical Methodology

Practical methodology is the step-by-step practice of asana, pranayama and meditation. It begins with the simple hatha yoga asanas that build strength, stamina and flexibility. Before pranayama, practitioners are guided to balance the breath through smooth, natural inhalation and exhalation from both nostrils. In meditation, focus is developed using a supporting object to steady attention. Gradually, this practice leads to support-less meditation, cultivating deeper inner awareness.
